  • M. C. Brennan has written and directed numerous short films since 1983 including The Man Called Bear: Hero At Large, The Mike And Eric Movie, The Man Called Bear: The Wrath Of Wang, Raton Blues and many others. As an actor, M. C. has had crappy bit parts in Just One Of The Guys, The Doors, Midnight Caller and a couple of dozen other things you've never heard of, done commercial and voiceover work including the well-received short The Coffee Achievers and the animated Man Called Bear series. As an author, M. C. has won awards including the 2002 Arizona Commission on the Arts Screenwriting Fellowship, the 2003 Phoenix Film Festival Screenwriting Award for "The People's Choice", the Journalism Education Association's National Feature Writing Award and numerous others. As a singer/songwriter/extremely sporadic performer, M. C. has released a half-dozen independently-produced tapes and CDs including Musician In Progress, Last Gasp, Collected Songs 1984-1988, Eskimo, M. C. Brennan (etc), San Francisco Sessions and--sort of barely--Black Diamond Bootleg. Many of these archaic items are being prepared for reissue. God help us. As a cook, M. C. has a really dazzling recipe for vegetarian tacos. And yeah, we know she used to be a dude. Kind of.
