M.C. Brennan is a writer and performer born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 14th, 1969.
Her writing has earned the Arizona Commission on the Arts/Arizona Film Commission screenwriting fellowship, the Phoenix Film Festival's Best Screenplay award, and she was named a semifinalist in the 2006 Austin Film Festival screenwriting competition.
She has directed several short films including The Man Called Bear: Hero At Large!, Spam Animals, The Mike And Eric Movie and Grandma Shoots, Grandma Scores.
As an actress she has appeared in numerous stage plays, as well as in the feature films The Doors, Just One Of The Guys and the upcoming Itty Bitty Titty Committee. She has also made several teeny guest appearances on television, including the popular and extremely recent NBC series Midnight Caller, as well as in many small independent films and shorts.
As a singer-songwriter M. C. Brennan has written over 150 songs including "Travelin' Girl," "Heaven's Treasure," "I Want You Back," and "Once Upon A Nevermind." She has recorded five full-length collections and performed (ever so rarely) throughout the West.
As a graphic artist for major performing arts centers, she has designed posters and playbills for Dr. Demento, the Pendragons, Linda Eder, and many others. She also paints. And cooks. And has a killer outside jump shot.
Her past includes residencies in six U.S. states, appearances on countless radio and television talk shows, countless ridicuous adventures and one particularly comical and epic gender transition. She can currently be seen in photographer Jana Marcus's acclaimed Transfigurations photojournalism project which documents the lives and stories of transgendered men and women, currently touring galleries across the country.
Brennan lives in southern California, writes every waking minute, and really likes Jelly Babies.
